Sexual Orientation, Gender Diversity, and Authenticity

I am a gay-affirmative, straight female who is experienced in working within the LGBTQ+ community. Coping with discrimination and oppression, coming out to one’s family, and sorting out an “authentic” sense of self in the face of social expectations and pressures are some of the issues I encounter with LGBTQ+ individuals and couples. I model respect that comes from the heart for all sexual orientations and gender diversity, as well as for those who are transitioning and coming out regardless of age.

Though it is not always possible, I believe the optimal therapeutic experience for someone gay is with an out and affirming gay therapist, who has achieved love and happiness in their own personal self-growth. Gaylesta, at www.gaylesta.org, is the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Psychotherapist Association of the Greater San Francisco Bay Area. They are a resource for those seeking therapy, while fostering the well-being of the LGBTQ+ community.

When location makes it impossible to meet with a LGBTQ+ therapist, or if the therapist nearby is not a good fit, I’m here. I’m devoted to helping all individuals, couples, and families in a therapeutic capacity of seasoned expertise, thanks in part to my own community of friends and colleagues who identify as queer, gender fluid, or transgendered. You totally deserve to have a life that works. Call me at 925.520.5263 or email me.
