Sexual Orientation, Gender Diversity, and Authenticity

I am a gay-affirmative, cis-gender female who is experienced in working within the LGBTQ+ community. Coping with discrimination, oppression, relationship trauma, coming out to one’s family, transitioning, and sorting out an authentic sense of self are just some of the issues that impact LGBTQ+ individuals, couples, and families that I work with. With special attention to respecting diversity, I model respect that comes from the heart for all sexual orientations and expressions.

Though it is not always possible, I believe the optimal therapeutic experience for someone who identifies as LGBTQ+ is with an out and affirming gay therapist who has achieved love and happiness in their own personal self-growth. Gaylesta, at www.gaylesta.org, is the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Psychotherapist Association of the Greater San Francisco Bay Area. They are a resource for those seeking therapy, while fostering the well-being of the LGBTQ+ community.

When location makes it difficult to meet with a LGBTQ+ therapist or if you have not found a good fit, I’m here. I’m devoted to helping all individuals, couples, and families in a therapeutic capacity of seasoned expertise, thanks in part to my own community of friends and colleagues who identify as queer, gender fluid, or transgendered. You totally deserve to have a life that works.

“Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement.”
